Privacy Policy — Abakira GEO / LLMEO

Last updated: 2026-08-17

Abakira GEO / LLMEO ("the App", "we", "us") is a Shopify app operated by Abakira LLC. The App measures how often AI engines name your store in their answers. This policy explains what data the App accesses, where it is sent, and your choices. Contact: support@abakira.com.

1. Data we collect

When you install the App on your Shopify store, we access and store:

We do not collect or store your customers' (shoppers') personal information. The App does not request access to orders or customers, and it displays nothing on your storefront. Your shoppers never interact with it.

2. Shopify data we read (access scopes)

We do not request access to customers, orders, store analytics, or your Shopify admin at large. The App measures external AI engines and edits the content you approve; it has no business with your sales or your shoppers' data.

2 bis. How changes to your store are made

The App never writes to your store on its own initiative. Every edit exists first as a proposed change that you can read, with the current value and the proposed value side by side.

3. What we send to AI providers, and what we do not

The App talks to AI providers for two different purposes, and sends different things in each case.

When measuring your visibility, we send only the question you monitor: its text, its language, and the technical parameters of the request. Your catalog is not sent. Your store name and domain are not sent either, and that is deliberate: a question that names your store would bias the very answer we are trying to measure. We use your name and domain locally, on our side, to detect whether the answer names you.

When generating a proposed improvement (a rewritten description, structured data, an article), we send the content of the specific page being improved, plus the publicly visible names of the competing stores the engines cited. This is the minimum needed to write something about your product rather than something generic.

In neither case do we send your access token, your customer data, or your order data. We do not hold those in the first place.

These providers may process your questions on servers outside the EEA. Where required, transfers rely on the providers' own standard contractual clauses.

4. Data sharing & sub-processors

We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers strictly needed to run the App:

Which AI providers receive your questions depends on your plan and on the engines you choose to monitor. Reading the collected answers and generating proposed improvements always go to Google, on every plan, because that is the provider we use for those two steps.

5. Data retention & deletion

We retain your data while the App is installed. Raw AI answers are kept so measurements stay auditable, and are deleted with the rest of your data. Content already published to your store stays yours and stays in place when you uninstall: we delete our record of it, not the article or the product text itself. If you want published content removed, delete it in your Shopify admin, or revert the change from within the App before uninstalling. When you uninstall the App, we delete your store profile, your questions, your measurements, the collected answers, your usage records, and your session data (handled via Shopify's app/uninstalled webhook, with Shopify's shop/redact webhook as a 48-hour backstop). You may also request deletion at any time by emailing support@abakira.com. We comply with Shopify's mandatory customers/redact, customers/data_request, and shop/redact webhooks; since we store no shopper personal data, customer requests return no personal data.

6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting support@abakira.com. If you are in the EEA/UK or California, you have rights under GDPR/CCPA; we honor these requests.

7. Accuracy of measurements

AI engines do not answer the same question the same way twice. The App therefore asks each question several times and reports a frequency with a margin of error, rather than a single score. When we cannot read an answer reliably, we say so and exclude it, instead of counting it as an absence. A measurement is a sample of engine behavior, not a guarantee.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access tokens are stored securely and used only to serve your store.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
